Statewide Bargaining Begins for all Oregon AFSCME State Employees

The parties met in the morning and quickly hashed out ground rules and agreed to eleven more bargaining sessions.

Following a short caucus to determine future bargaining dates, our union submitted four proposals to the state — agreeing to a TA on one, a first for the Central Table.

The four proposals submitted focused on new employee orientation, a quarterly bargaining unit audit, expedited arbitration processes and an adjustment to maintenance of membership language which was tentatively agreed to by both parties.
