Updates

The parties met early on the morning of Monday, March 18th and got right to work on issues at hand. First, AFSCME presented several proposals that focus on the relationship we have with our supervisors. The State followed up with four housekeeping proposals of their own before ending for the day to caucus.

The parties met in the morning and quickly hashed out ground rules and agreed to eleven more bargaining sessions.

Following a short caucus to determine future bargaining dates, our union submitted four proposals to the state — agreeing to a TA on one, a first for the Central Table.

The four proposals submitted focused on new employee orientation, a quarterly bargaining unit audit, expedited arbitration processes and an adjustment to maintenance of membership language which was tentatively agreed to by both parties.
